The Garlic Farm
The Garlic Farm lies in the sheltered Arreton Valley near the village of Newchurch in the Isle of Wight, UK. It is home to the Boswell family who have farmed here since 1950. The story goes that in 1975, Norah Boswell decided to plant a few garlic bulbs amongst the other crops. Later that year she was heard to cry, "How well it grows!". And so it was that this thriving business came about.

Today, the farm is nationally and internationally renowned for the quality of its garlic, and for the wealth of knowledge the Boswells have amassed. This year (2009), a new extension has been added (seen above, on the left hand side). This houses a very attractive, licensed cafe which has been built with locally grown, macrocarpa timbers, and flagstone floor. It even offers guests the warmth of a log-burning stove on chilly winter days. The cafe is open all year round and is already proving to be very popular! Within the shop itself you will find 'all things garlic' including baskets or strings of fresh garlic bulbs, smoked garlic bulbs, fresh vegetables, cookware, recipe cards, growing instructions and, best of all (in my opinion!) rows and rows of fabulous pickles, relishes and chutneys.

And if you can't decide between Raging Ape or Vampires Revenge or Vampires Delight you'll be able to sample each of these wonderful creations before you choose which to buy.
The Garlic Farm invites visitors to explore the immediate area and has marked out a walk which passes garlic and asparagus fields, and archeological sites dating back to Roman days. For further information you can
