When considering Isle of Wight holiday homes, we began with my all-time favourite place: Steephill Cove, near Ventnor, where there are several properties available.
If these are of interest to you, please bear in mind that access to the cove is on foot only. This means that you will have to leave your car in the designated parking area at the top of the cliff, then carry your belongings down to your holiday home. So you do need to be reasonably fit!

THE BOATHOUSE, Steephill Cove, Ventnor
'The Boathouse' is right on the beach. All that separates you from the golden sand is a shingle pathway and the sea wall.
This fabulous holiday home offers three bedrooms (one double with sea view and two twin), a dressing room, two bathrooms, a lounge with sea view, and a large, well equipped kitchen/diner with American fridge/freezer, dishwasher, range cooker and microwave.

The Boathouse also offers a large conservatory and balcony, but please note these facilities are unavailable between the hours of 11:30 and 4:30 from June to early September because they are used by the Boathouse Seafood Restaurant - very handy, but don't forget to book! THE LIGHTHOUSE, Steephill Cove, Ventnor
'The Lighthouse' is a brand new holiday home owned and managed by the owners of The Boathouse, Mark and Vanessa Wheeler. It is expected to open in June/July 2008. It is in a superb spot, with views across the cove and right down the coast, and will undoubtedly become very popular.

THE CROWS NEST
'The Crows Nest' is also owned by Mark and Vanessa Wheeler and forms part of The Boathouse complex. This smaller holiday accommodation will appeal to couples wanting to 'get away from it all'. It offers just one double bedroom (with en-suite shower), lounge and kitchenette. Outside there is a small, but private, area of decking.

THE SAIL LOFT Steephill Cove, Ventnor
"The Sail Loft' looks really quaint. Perched on high with its own private balcony, it enjoys fabulous views and direct access to the beach.

LITTLE TAMARISK Love Lane, Steephill Cove, Ventnor
'Little Tamarisk' is a new, purpose-built, holiday chalet owned by Jim and Mandy Wheeler. It is located within their own garden, immediately above Steephill Cove.
We have not visited this particular holiday home, but we do know it's in an ideal location! We understand it is primarily a bed-and-breakfast retreat. The accommodation offered includes living area with TV/DVD and CD player, one double bedroom, separate toilet and shower room, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, private garden, large sun deck, and parking for one car.
