The Clubhouse seems clean and inviting with good bar and catering facilities. Bar snacks are available on request, but booking is advisable for lunch or dinner.

Club hire and trolley hire is also offered from the Pro Shop.

VENTNOR GOLF CENTRE
Address: Steephill Down Road, Ventnor, Isle of Wight PO38 1BP
Telephone: 01983 853326
Email: secretary@ventnorgolfclub.co.uk
Website www.ventnorgolfclub.co.uk

Set high on the clifftops between Ventor and Niton, this 12-hole Isle of Wight golf club offers superb views across the surrounding downs and English Channel.

Access
is via Steephill Down Road (behind the Ocean View Fish and Chip Shop), a turning off the B3327 Ventnor to Wroxall road.

The club has ambitious eco-plans for the future. These include a new clubhouse, a new 18 hole course, holiday accommodation - and three wind turbines to provide power. To date only the plans for wind turbines have been submitted to the council.

As it stands now (2009), however, the approach road is in very poor condition and the clubhouse looks rather small and 'tired' when compared to others on the island. Nonetheless, the bar serves snacks and great beer and the magnificent views enjoyed from the course will perhaps compensate.

Course Fees: Monday to Friday - £18, Weekends and Bank Holidays - £23. Evenings (after 4:00 pm any day) - £10

Trolley and club hire available.

We have also visited and commented on the following Isle of Wight golf clubs: Newport Golf Club, Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club and Westridge Golf Club.
