Which of the Isle of Wight
ferries is right for you?

Isle of Wight ferries run from Portsmouth, Southampton and Lymington.

There are two operators: WIGHTLINK and RED FUNNEL.

Wightlink offer two routes:

1. Portsmouth to Fishbourne (near Ryde) - 40 minutes
2. Lymington (New Forest) to Yarmouth - 30 minutes

Red Funnel offer one route only:

1. Southampton to East Cowes - 60 mins.

Isle of Wight ferries - Wightlink car ferry


If you are traveling on foot, without a car, you have several options:

1. Travel on any Wightlink or Red Funnel boat as a foot passenger.
2. Travel on Wightlink's FastCat (catamaran) service from Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde pier - 18 minutes.
3. Travel on Red Funnel's Red Jet (catamaran) service from Southampton to West Cowes - 30 minutes.
4. Travel by hovercraft from Southsea to Ryde with Hovertravel - 10 minutes.
