Isle of Wight Campsites:
Carpenters Farm

Of all the Isle of Wight campsites we have visited, Carpenters Farm is undoubtedly one of the best well kept.

You will find it on the B3330, just half a mile from St Helens village.

The following picture shows the site entrance, the drive which sweeps round to Reception, and the play area.

As you can see, the camping site is level and there is plenty of room!

Carpenters Farm offers serviced and unserviced pitches - some with hard standing.

We noted good laundry facilities, a chemical disposal unit, a dog-walking area, and one reasonably sized toilet and shower block. Everything was spotlessly clean when we visited, but I guess it could get pretty busy during peak periods!

This camping site is located amidst beautiful countryside about one and a half miles from St Helen's beach. You could walk to the sea (via the village and Duver Road), but there are no footpaths and the road can get quite busy. Alternatively, there is plenty of parking on The Duver if you choose to drive.

The village of St. Helens is only about half a mile away. There you will find a village inn overlooking a very pretty village green, a small Post Office and a general store. (If that's not enough, there is also a huge new Tesco within a few miles on the outskirts of Ryde.)
