Holiday Chalets on the Isle of Wight
Holiday chalets on the Isle of Wight offer more affordable accommodation for those on a tight budget.
There are several sites to choose from, but we will begin by introducing you to Brighstone Holiday Centre which is situated on the coast, just off the main A3055 Military Road, one mile from the picturesque village of Brighstone ....

Approaching Brighstone Holiday Centre from Niton
Brightly coloured doors offer you a warm welcome at Brighstone Holiday Centre. Built in 1932 (that's 2 years before Butlins!), this is the oldest holiday centre on the island - and perhaps the only one of its type remaining.
The current owners, Clive and Sue Abbott, have worked long and hard to update the facilities offered whilst at the same time preserving the charm of the old holiday centre.

The original small chalets have been cleverly linked and modernised over the years. Each now offers a sitting room, well equipped kitchen/diner, shower room and either one, two or three double bedrooms.
Apart from the self catering accommodation, Brighstone Holiday Centre also offers spacious facilities for camping and touring caravans. Two areas have been set aside for for this purpose. The first comprises a wide expanse of grass in the centre of the site.

The second area devoted to camping is a spacious field, adjacent to the site, which has been recently purchased by Sue and Clive.

On site facilities at Brighstone Holiday Centre include a fabulous, heated, indoor swimming pool. (Apparently this is warmer than the council pools!) The pool is open from May to October and is free to anyone staying on site.

Holiday makers with children will also be pleased to find a play area near the chalets, a TV room, and a games room with pool table.

Other facilities include free hot showers and toilet facilities, a laundry room, dishwashing area, and a shop selling basic essentials.
A separate block of chalets exists within the centre for visitors requiring Bed and Breakfast only, and another for those simply requiring a bed for the night (ideal for fishermen, surfers, walkers etc). For these guests, and for campers, there is a really nice Breakfast Room and seasonal Take-Away on site.

Please note: This site is on the coast and paths lead right up to the crumbling, sandstone cliffs overlooking Brighstone Bay. There is no direct access to the beach from the holiday centre, but the Coastal Path runs through the site and, within six minutes you will be able to walk down to the lovely, sandy beach at Grange Chine.
