Summer Fun at Carisbrooke Castle
Fun and entertainment-packed days are on offer in a brand new series of events at English Heritage’s Carisbrooke Castle throughout August 2010.
Normal admission prices apply: Adults £7.00, Concessions £6.00, Children £3.50, Family Ticket £17.50. English Heritage Members free. All children are invited to join in the Time Travellers Go… events. An additional £1 will be charged on standard admission for every child, member and non member, to help English Heritage fund these activities.
Here's what's on offer:
Time Travellers Go… Rogues & Villains Tuesday 3 & Wednesday 4 August from 10am - 5pm Children who enjoy playing heroes and villains can learn from the greats! They can meet Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham, try archery and then hold court with King Arthur and enjoy a spot of jousting.

Time Travellers Go… Normans & Saxons Tuesday 10 & Wednesday 11 August from 10am - 5pm Youngsters can step inside a world of Saxons and Normans to witness soldiers preparing armour, see tradesmen carrying out woodwork and learn about traditional cooking methods.
Time Travellers Go… Discoveries & Inventions Tuesday 17 & Wednesday 18 August 10am - 5pm Step into a world of wonder and excitement as you marvel at the travelling Victorian Curios Museum and be amazed by Leonardo's flying machines!
Time Travellers Go… Medieval Tuesday 24 & Wednesday 25 August 10am - 5pm Children can immerse themselves in all things medieval at Carisbrooke Castle including trying on medieval armour and watching fascinating medieval cooking displays. They should make sure they avoid the Executioner's axe!
Time Travellers Go… Archaeology Saturday 28 - Monday 30 August 10am - 5pm Budding young archaeologists can become Indiana Jones for a day! Take part in Rescue that Relic, the ancient tomb obstacle course, dig up artefacts and try your hand at an Archaeology Quest.
Ghost Walk Monday 25 – Sunday 31 August 10am - 5pm Wander the spooky battlements in this imposing fortress - once the prison of Charles I. Follow an expert guide and hear all about the ghostly goings on that have been witnessed over the years!
